Guide to setting up ZNC bouncer

After a ZNC approves your account, go to ZNC Accounts (http://znc.tiltshellz.org/zncaccounts.php). Click on Add another znc user.

Choose a Server - doesn't really matter which one, but remember which one you choose.

The username and password you choose should be different from your website login, your irc client will use these when connecting.

Fill out IRC information the way you want it:

Username: is the username your irc client will use to connect with.
Password: is the password your irc client will use to connect with.
Nickname: is the nickname that will be used on IRC when you log into the bouncer.
Server: If you are using coldfront, put in storm.coldfront.net 6667 as your server. Or change the server address to the server you want.
Playback buffer: the number of lines that will be played when you log into the bouncer. We suggest 100, otherwise your IRC client can crash.

When you are done, click Save ZNC.

If you are using mIRC, then go to Options > Servers > Add.
When you add another server:

Description: Name your server whatever is convenient for you.
IRC Server: Depending on which one you chose, put in server1.tiltshellz.org or server2.tiltshellz.org. If you aren't sure which one is your server you can check in the ZNC Accounts on the website or you can ask an admin.
Ports: Leave is at 6667
Group: Not necessarily needed.
Password: ZNCUsername:Password < Make sure the colon is there. The ZNC-Username is the username you choose under authentication. Same with the password.

You should be able to log into your bouncer now.

Some useful commands:

To set your IRC identification password: /msg *nickserv set mypassword
To set your away ZNC nick: /msg *awaynick set Nick
If you want people to get a message when you are away: /msg *simple_away reason
